Java Operations
25.02.1942 Carrier Strike Force (now again including the two battleships) sorties from Staring Bay to support invasion of Java in the Indian Ocean, south of Java.
06.03.1942       CV Zuikaku departs Kure for Minami-Torishima (Marcus Island) area to intercept US Navy's Task Force 16 after its raid.
07.03.1942       CV Shokaku departs Yokosuka for Minami-Torishima (Marcus Island) area to intercept US Navy's Task Force 16 after its raid.
11.03.1942 Carrier Strike Force arrives Staring Bay, after the surrender of the Dutch East Indies.
      5 Carrier Squadron (CV Shokaku & CV Zuikaku) sorties to sweep for enemy believed to be approaching Japan.
15.03.1942       CV Kaga (1 Carrier Squadron) departs Staring Bay for Japan. Under repair at Sasebo 22.03.1942–04.05.1942.
16.03.1942       5 Carrier Squadron (CV Shokaku & CV Zuikaku) arrives to Yokosuka for resupply.
17.03.1942       5 Carrier Squadron (CV Shokaku & CV Zuikaku) departs Yokosuka for Staring Bay.
24.03.1942       5 Carrier Squadron (CV Shokaku & CV Zuikaku) arrives at Staring Bay, joining Carrier Strike Force there.
